THE CREATIVE CORNER: CRISTINA TOSIO
In Ibiza, where music and inspiration can be felt in every corner, we caught up with Cristina Tosio. DJ, model, and natural creator, she talked to us about how she understands creativity, the spots she always recommends visiting on the island, and, of course, her favorite Jimmy Lion designs.
Looking back, how did your artistic career begin and what projects are you working on right now?
When fashion was still my main job, I started DJing purely for fun, but I had followed electronic music closely since I was young, so one thing led to another. Now the tables have turned, and although I still work in fashion, my 24/7 is much more dedicated to music.
How do you bring out your creative side when you're in the DJ booth?
I love taking the crowd on a musical journey, drawing them in, connecting with my music and connecting with each other, while completely disconnecting from everything else. I want to bring people to a state of euphoria that marks a turning point in how they feel, inspiring them and filling them with energy... or at least, that's what I try to do.
Was it very different when you worked as a model?
Totally, both are creative in their own way. When I shoot an editorial, I get into character and create my own movie, but when you perform for people, your presence, creativity, and impact on others carry so much more weight.
How has your way of creating and expressing yourself evolved?
Over time you refine your tastes and blend them with your feelings, sharing that with others, which is wonderful. Sometimes it's more playful, other times deeper, depending on the venue, the crowd, the occasion…
Did you end up in Ibiza because of its creative energy? What inspires you there?
It wasn't exactly like that, but without a doubt the peace and energy this island conveys have a positive influence on my work. I love the calm of the island, especially off-season when it's quieter. Nature, driving through mountains and fields with a smile, no noise, no traffic — everything inspires me… and feeds my creative side.

Which Jimmy Lion designs represent you best and why?
I especially love the athletic-style socks with original designs, but the thick winter socks are also fantastic! And the sheer women's socks are amazing… I love them all!
I'm a huge fan of collaborations in general, especially Basquiat™, Keith Haring™, Looney Tunes™, E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial, and Gremlins™.
